Meet Dr. Scott Watterson
Our Second-Generation Dentist Loves to Serve His Patients
To me, in my opinion, the most rewarding part of dentistry that I find is being able to watch somebody transform from very self-conscious and very introverted, perhaps, and someone that has low self-esteem because of the way their smile affects their being, if you will, seeing that person go from that point to being excited, walking in and being able to grin from ear to ear, and having their life transformed and changed because of what they are experiencing and how they're able to go about living now, that, to me, is the most rewarding.
Like many second-generation dentists, Top-notch Jackson, MI dentist, Dr. Scott Watterson, pursued dentistry as a career because his father instilled in him a desire to help others enjoy a healthier life.
A Jackson, MI native, Dr. Scott Watterson graduated from Western High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana’s Taylor University and Spring Arbor University in Michigan before getting his DDS from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
He was one of only two in his dental school graduating class to go into his own private practice right after graduation in 1998. He established his practice in Jackson out of a desire to give back to his hometown community. He has added other dentists to his practice and considers it a blessing to work with other doctors.
Dr. Scott Watterson appreciates that practicing general dentistry affords him the opportunity to help his patients in so many different ways. He is committed to broadening and sharpening his dentistry skills by pursuing educational opportunities with respected institutions such as the Pankey Institute, the Dawson Academy, and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
